    The trial will be posted as soon as the product is launched, which is likely going to happen between 13-15 February. Naturally, Facebook, Google+ and Twitter will be updated and I will make a post about it so if you’re subscribed to any of those or the comment feed here or on the Tick Data page, you will be notified.

    Regarding the Walk Forward Analyzer, an update for it is not needed. However Andrew was very nice and put a special option that should make it even easier to use with the Tick Data Suite. I presume the WFA update will be posted soon after the TDS is launched.

      Would you be so kind to open a support ticket?

      Please mention when does it crash (as soon as you click the Tick Data Suite shortcut, when you try to start a backtest etc.) and whether you renamed any of the files involved (tds.exe or terminal.exe). Thanks.

        Well, just in case you don’t want to open a ticket for some reason, your problem is most likely that described in the FAQ at section 2, question 5. In essence, you’re probably running an EA compiled with build 405+ on a MT4 build 402.

        I suggest trying the same EA without the Tick Data Suite, it will probably still crash. In that case, upgrade to the latest MT4 build.

    Birt, Norton Antivirus is breaking my “spirit” trying to dowload TDS. the file insight feature removes it before I can successfully run it. searching how to manually trust the file, but not yet successful…Also, any informed word on Dukascopy? no data for FEB as you know.

      Wow, I tried it myself and Norton Antivirus is certainly a royal pain in the ass. It considers files a threat just because they exist. I submitted a whitelist application but that takes up to 3 weeks to be approved. Likely, there will be another Tick Data Suite version before the 3 weeks have passed (Metaquotes plans to release a new build). Anyway, if you’re running Norton Internet Security you can open it and click Advanced, then click Quarantine right below Computer Protection and you will find the file there; select it then press the “Restore & Options” link on the right and then click the Restore button. That should put it back to where you downloaded it and let you run it.

      If you intend to continue running the Norton abomination, I recommend reading Re: SONAR is deleting our software.

    I use the same laptop at home and at work. The Suite installed at home won¨t work elsewhere, because of different IP I guess. Any way around it?

    well, unfortunately this Captcha thing doesn´t work, Birt. Tried it both in Firefox and IE. Could you please fix it because otherwise you won´t be able to sell too many of those Tick Data Suites.

      Must’ve been a temp fluke. I just tried it and it worked perfectly fine. There were other trial signups before and after you posted here so I’m guessing it was a caching issue or something similar. I took the liberty of using the email address you provided when filling in the trial form, I hope you don’t mind. The trial email should be in your inbox.

      Just refresh the page if it fails. There’s probably some timeout that kicks in. Anyway, I see you got it going in the end.

    Sorry Birt,

    As others have reported, the Captcha doesn’t display the image [ in several Browsers ]. Workaround, until it is fixed, is to type junk and the refresh displays the field after failure.

      That’s weird. It always works for me and I tried several different browsers as well. Might be caused by transparent proxying or something like that. Anyway, it doesn’t seem to be an isolated problem so I switched to the math challenge captcha.

    Hi Birt,

    I was trying this on build 419, and it won’t open additional instances anymore. I did before I upgraded (from 416). Now I can just run one. If I start again, it will just throw focus to the existing window.

    Hope that can be fixed 🙂

    Hello Birt,

    first of all, thank you a lot for your efforts!I’ve been using your scripts to download tickdata and they saved me alot of time and nerve, thank you for that.
    I’m also interested in purchasing the tickdata suite and get a trial license prior to that. However the captcha is not being displayed and therefore i can not register to get a serial. It would be great if you can fix this. Kind Regards, Andrej

    Hello Birt, Every time I try to submit for trial serial number I get this: “The CAPTCHA wasn’t entered correctly. Go back and try it again.”
    I dont understand what is wrong.

      You either did not fill in the captcha field correctly or your ad blocking software is blocking the captcha image. In any case, i just submitted your email for a trial myself (assuming that the email address you provided with your comment was correct).

    Hello Birt, About 5 months or so ago I purchased tds. Worked great. Then I got laid off from my job and had to cut out some unnecessary expenses. I had to cancel my tds support. Where can I re-sign up If I wanted to resume getting updates and would it still be at $10.00 per month?

      The database shows that you already had a trial using the email address you posted with starting from 08.09.2012 and that you actually used it. I assume you would like an extension, I will contact you via email about it.

    I just asked for the 7 days trial period and realizes now that my MT4 are
    4.00 build 438.
    Your downloads might not be compatible as they are valid only for max. build 432 – will that be a problem?

    I tried one other my email but no luck, I did not receive the serial.

      That old serial renewed was manually sent by me. Turns out there was indeed a problem with the trial processing and I fixed it today. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    It works fine, perhaps there’s something wrong with your browser (such as an overzealous ad-blocker plugin).

    I tried to send a trial to your email address and it says it was already used so I guess you somehow managed to do it in the end.

      You probably have an ad blocker addon that incorrectly flags the captcha as an add and blocks it. I tested just now and it loads fine.

      Anyway I believe you also figured it out in the end because I tried to add your email address for a trial and it reports it’s already been used.

      Yes, v1.2.1 is available since Friday and it works fine with 445. Please update your copy either via autoupdate or simply by downloading the latest installer.

    I am using TDS trail version. I am trying to back-test renko chart using TDS. I went through all the steps and when I invoke MT4 by running TDS and run strategy tester I get TDS: Slippage opening market order error. then I get Order send error 138. Could you please help me figure out why i am getting error. Can you give me some idea how I can fix this.

      You seem to have enabled slippage so the Tick Data Suite acts accordingly. Open the Tick Data Suite Configuration tool and disable slippage, that should solve your problem.

      You’re probably referring to the message that informs you that it’s not the first trial on that computer. There’s nothing really wrong, it’s exactly what it says – you already had a TDS trial on that machine and the license server does not allow multiple trials on the same computer. If you would like, I can re-enable your first trial but you will have to email me its license key (not the new license key, the old one).

      There’s a problem with your mail server or perhaps the messages landed in your spam folder. I just checked and your server replied with a code of “250 ok” which means it accepted the message for delivery.

      In any case, I already sent you an email with one of your trial license keys.

      To be honest, I haven’t tested it on Windows 2000 in years. It should work fine but I can’t be 100% certain. Just get the trial and try it out.

    I get the following error message: “tds.exe is not a valid Win32 application”. This error seems to be related to the compiler version used. Win2000 is an old system, but fits nicely on a small virtual machine with Mt4 only. BR-Peter

      In their infinite wisdom, Microsoft decided that Visual Studio 2010 and above don’t need to produce executable files that are compatible with Windows 2000. As such, when I upgraded the development environment to VS2010, it looks like it broke compatibility with w2k. See VS2010-created EXE not a valid WIN32 app under W2000 for more information.

      Bottom line: I’m sorry but I’m afraid I don’t have a fix or a workaround for this problem. Since Windows 2000 is no longer supported by Microsoft for some 6 years now, I’m not going to jump through hoops to make TDS work with it. If you need an OS with a small footprint for a VM, I would recommend Windows XP SP3 instead of Windows 2000 – XP is also not supported anymore but most of the stuff works in it.

    Hi Birt,

    Firstly, thank you for all the information posted on your site, it has been tremendously helpful. I have the recurring issue that when attaching an EA to the chart, the terminal crashes. The MA EA that comes with MT4 tests fine with a 99% quality, however, the EA I am running was compiled on build 950, I have backtested it many times on this exact terminal, yet when downloading the tick suite and using that, for some reason it crashes. I understand you said MT4 wont allow for old compiles on a newer version, however it is the same version it has been used with for a long time. How do I solve this issue?

      The problem is in all likelihood related to the EA, not to the Tick Data Suite. If the crash occurs when you attach the to the chart, try to inspect the expert log, there might be more information in there. If the crash occurs when you backtest it, check the backtest journal. Also, the crash type is important: if the crash is just a message in the log it’s something, if the terminal disappears completely it’s a different thing. If it is your EA, try to add some Print() logging and recompile it to determine where exactly does it crash.

      TDSv2 is free upgrade for anyone with a current support license. If your license support is not current, you can request an update which is $29.

      But you will be able to use both v1 and v2 on the same machine, with same license key.
