1. Can you recommend a profitable expert advisor?

I’m sorry, but I cannot make this choice for you. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to expert advisors and that’s the reason behind the EA Top – Best Forex Robot page: letting everyone choose the strategies that best suit their style and match their profitability criteria. On top of that, I try to make a habit of not making EA recommendations because I don’t have all the answers and sometimes I can simply be wrong. All the info on this website consists of past performance (live forward tests are past performance results as well, if you think about it) and while backtests and forward tests may give a good indication about the financial viability of a strategy, there’s no guarantee that the same performance will be exhibited in the future.

2. What is the most profitable Forex robot?

See the previous question.

3. Can you send me [insert EA] or its manual?

No. All the EAs that are being forward tested on my site were either purchased by me or submitted by their vendors in good faith and I do not intend to screw them over in any way. If you need any of the files related to an EA, just download them from the downloads section of their website which should be available to all its legitimate customers. If you didn’t buy the respective EA, you should be aware that I do not condone piracy.

4. What are your settings for [insert EA]?

Usually, the defaults as much as possible. In the case of live forward tests, all changes from the default settings are mentioned in the article, under the Birt’s forward test heading; it says Settings next to them. Just in case I may have forgotten to update the page for an EA, you might want to take a look at the Forward Test Change History page, where all the changes to the settings are listed.

5. Can you send me the .set files for [insert EA]?

I’m sorry, I can’t. My time is extremely limited and you can simply reconstruct them yourself using the information from each article.

6. What version is the [insert EA] live forward test running?

Usually the latest but there are cases when I delay updating due to settings that changed dramatically enough to warrant a new backtest or simply due to lack of time. In many cases, the current version is displayed on the forward test page, right above the balance chart. If it isn’t, you can easily find out the version each forward test is running by visiting the Forward Test Change History page which lists all forward test updates.

7. Which broker is the [insert EA] live forward test using?

The broker name is listed for each live forward test on the page with all the information. Most of the time, it’s PrivateFX.

8. Can I open an account with PrivateFX?

Afraid not. PrivateFX is a private brokerage reserved exclusively for eareview.net forward testing.

9. What is the best broker for [insert EA]?

The one that best suits your criteria and the specifications of that particular EA. I don’t have many answers in regards to brokerages because I only hold accounts with less than 10 brokers and I don’t even trade most of those, so my experience is mostly limited to PrivateFX. Any other info I have is hearsay and you can read that on various forums as well. If you’re looking for a good broker for a particular EA, I suggest defining a set of criteria that it has to match (spreads, execution, funding methods, minimum deposit, regulation, segregation, order processing pipeline etc.) then searching on myfxbook and other similar sites for real accounts running the same EA; once you found some brokers where it’s profitable, proceed filtering them using your criteria. If you find no results, just proceed to one of the many sites that deal in brokerage listings and start filtering. At the end, if you’re left with several results, dig around for their reputation to perform some further filtering.

10. What settings do you use for [insert EA]?

The settings used for each of my forward test are listed above the balance chart. Typically, I’m using the default settings with slight modifications (risk in most cases). If an EA is not used on all the pairs it supports, this is also indicated there.

11. What settings should I use for [insert EA]?

Unfortunately, I am unable to advise you on this topic because for some EAs (such as Million Dollar Pips) the settings are different from one setup to another. I only have experience with my setup and the settings I am using may or may not be profitable with your setup. If you are interested to find out what my settings are, see question 10 above. If you require advice on the configuration of an EA, the best place to start is the user manual that shipped with it. If you need clarification on some of the settings, I recommend contacting vendor support by sending an email to the address supplied with your purchase.

12. Can you help me with some MQL code?

I fear my limited available time does not allow that. You can typically find your answer(s) at forum.mql4.com and in case you can’t, go ahead and post a question, the folks over there are quite helpful.

13. Are you interested in implementing my really good strategy as an EA?

While I appreciate the trust you are willing to place in me by offering to disclose the details of your strategy, unfortunately I have too many other ongoing projects so I lack the time to embark on such an endeavor. You can talk to one of the existing sites that offer MQL programming services or you can try sites such as vworker.com to find someone to collaborate with.

14. Will you post a forward test of my EA on your website?

I might be interested if the EA meets the following conditions:

  • It is not a signal service.
  • It is not a managed account service.
  • It is profitable and it has at least one myfxbook verified live forward test account spanning a sizeable period.
  • It has a website and it has an affiliate program by means of an established retailer.
  • It does not rely on an unlimited grid.
  • It does not use martingale lot sizing without a hard limit.
  • It does not trade in a hold-and-pray fashion (no stop loss).

Don’t hesitate to contact me if your product meets the above criteria.
